Philips has launched Oxygenate 5, a stationary oxygen concentrator in India, to support people who require long-term supplemental oxygen therapy at home. The launch comes amid the growing burden of chronic respiratory conditions in the country and increasing demand for home-based respiratory care.

According to reports cited in the announcement, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects approximately 13% of adults in India, with the prevalence rising to 27% among people aged 60 and above. Oxygenate 5 is designed for patients with chronic respiratory conditions who develop severe hypoxaemia and require long-term oxygen therapy, including in home-care settings.

The device delivers a continuous oxygen flow rate ranging from 0.5 to 5 litres per minute (L/min). Its features include an easy-to-read digital flowmeter, quieter operation at less than 40 decibels (dB), and simplified routine maintenance. These features are intended to make oxygen therapy easier for patients and caregivers to manage in everyday settings.

Oxygenate 5 also incorporates nine levels of filtration and comes with four additional air inlet filters and one additional air filter. The user-replaceable filters are designed to simplify maintenance and may help reduce consumable purchases and operating costs. The device includes a 10,000-hour sieve warranty and a three-year limited warranty.

Bharath Sesha, Managing Director of Philips Indian Subcontinent, highlighted the importance of making long-term oxygen therapy more dependable and accessible for patients and their families. Philips will also showcase Oxygenate 5 at NAPCON 2026 in Kolkata, presenting the device to healthcare professionals and respiratory care stakeholders.
