Apollo Hospitals Launches AI-Assisted 360-Degree Stroke Care Programme

Apollo Hospitals has launched an AI-assisted 360-degree stroke care programme on October 29, 2026coinciding with World Stroke Day.

Apollo Hospitals has launched an AI-assisted 360-degree stroke care programme on October 29, 2026, coinciding with World Stroke Day. The programme aims to strengthen stroke management through timely emergency assessment, specialised neurological treatment, advanced neuro-intensive care, rehabilitation, and home-based follow-up. It has been introduced to support a coordinated care pathway for patients from the onset of a stroke emergency through recovery.

The programme integrates technology-enabled emergency response, including 5G-connected ambulances and rapid stroke assessment. Eligible patients can receive thrombolysis, a clot-dissolving treatment, or mechanical thrombectomy, a procedure used to remove blood clots from blocked brain vessels. According to Apollo Hospitals, mechanical thrombectomy may be considered in selected patients up to 24 hours after symptom onset, depending on clinical assessment and imaging findings.

The care pathway also includes advanced neuro-intensive care unit (neuro-ICU) monitoring and MRI-integrated operating theatre capabilities, wherever applicable. These facilities are intended to support specialised treatment and monitoring of patients with complex stroke conditions.

Rehabilitation and post-discharge support form another part of the programme. Patients can access structured stroke recovery services, physiotherapy and home-based follow-up. Additional support may include remote monitoring, home nursing, and speech, swallowing and occupational therapy to address the physical and functional challenges that can occur after a stroke.

Apollo Hospitals has emphasised that early recognition of stroke symptoms and immediate medical attention are important for treatment outcomes. The hospital has urged the public to treat suspected stroke as a medical emergency and has provided its stroke emergency helpline, 1066, for assistance.
