Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals Group has doubled the bed capacity of its KIMS Saveera Hospital in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, from 250 to 500 beds.

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals Group has doubled the bed capacity of its KIMS Saveera Hospital in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, from 250 to 500 beds. The expansion strengthens the group's healthcare infrastructure across the Rayalaseema region and increases its total network bed capacity to 9,117.

The expanded facility was inaugurated on November 1, 2026, by Andhra Pradesh Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister Satya Kumar Yadav and Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav. The expansion has been undertaken by Saveera Institute of Medical Sciences Private Limited, a subsidiary of KIMS Hospitals Group.

A major component of the expansion is a dedicated Comprehensive Oncology Block equipped with advanced cancer diagnostic and treatment infrastructure. Its facilities include an Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator, digital PET-CT scanner and brachytherapy equipment, along with other diagnostic and treatment systems. These facilities are intended to strengthen access to specialised cancer care in Anantapur and neighbouring areas.

The hospital has also established a dedicated Cuddles Mother and Child Block, supported by specialised neonatal intensive care facilities. The unit is intended to provide maternal, newborn and paediatric healthcare services in the region.

Commenting on the expansion, Dr. B. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Hospitals Group, said that increasing bed capacity and strengthening oncology and mother-and-child services would help bring advanced healthcare closer to communities across Rayalaseema.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the hospital will also deploy 200 DRIISTI AI-powered smart glasses for visually impaired beneficiaries in Anantapur district. The devices have been developed by KIMS Foundation and Research Centre in collaboration with Achala Health Services.
